A sore, irritating throat is often the first sign that indicates one is getting sick, along with pain while swallowing, eating and even talking. Throat is one of the most exposed parts of the body to infections, as viruses and bacteria often settle in this part of the body. Any triggering factor ranging from inhalation of micro-organsim in dust or air to food items (cold & sour things) can lead to affections of throat precipitating as Upper Respiratory Tract Infections. If not treated on time, it involves other neighbouring areas like pharynx, larynx & tonsils. It may even spread downwards to involve the lungs.

Action of Ingredients:
Mercurius iodatus ruber (Merc.bin.iod): It is indicated when the throat is dark red with painful swallowing. Cough associated with a foreign body sensation in the throat.
Belladonna: Useful at the beginning of sudden sore throat especially in children.Throat feels constricted with difficult deglutition especially of liquids. Larynx is very painful with foreign body sensation in it. Associated with dry, tickling, short cough, worse at night.
Kali muriaticum: It is indicated when the tonsils are inflamed and enlarged to such an extent that there is difficulty in breathing. There are grayish patches or spots in the throat. Spasmodic cough with thick and white phlegm.
Baryta carbonica: Stinging and smarting pain in tonsils, pharynx or larynx. Smarting pain when swallowing, worse on empty swallowing. Indicated for chronic aphonia from over use of voice.
Ferrum phosphoricum: Useful in the first stage of all inflammatory conditions, especially for catarrhal affections of the respiratory tract.Subacute laryngitis with red and inflamed throat. Indicated for sore throat, especially of singers.
Senega: Indicated for catarrhal inflammation of throat with scraping hoarseness. There is burning and rawness with hoarseness and pain while talking.
Ammonium muriaticum: There is internal and external swelling of throat with viscid phlegm. Hoarseness and burning in larynx.
For better results along with THROAT AID, patients are advised to avoid the following items:
- Cold items like ice-creams, chilled water and cold drinks.
- Sour foods like curd, citrus food, pickles, ketchup, sambhar etc.
- Spicy food items.
- Preparations made in oil/butter or ghee.
Consumption of coffee, onions, garlic etc has no effect on the efficacy of this homoeopathic medicine.
